I think you need to learn the appropriate use of apostrophes before trying to start debates on anything.

Pretty simple. Acadamy starting ages should be no lower than 14. Go back t how it used to be. It's a big enough blow when you've only put a couple of years into trying to make the grade. It's bad enough when you don't play as well as you can in a trail match (I tell you that from my own experience and can still remember how gutted I felt the morning I found out). For kids to be ten years of their lives into this, cut off from their friends (if they have any real friends because they're so cut off from them), putting their all into something that we all know barely 1% make the grade. It's harder now than it used to be because of the amount of money in the game and the consequent by anybody from anywhere if they're the best attitude managers and clubs have got.
If clubs want to help improve the kids then put money into schools football. It used to be a massive thing. You play for your school, then your region and eventually on to your county, maybe even your country. All the scouts used to keep tabs on it and the best were picked out and in the meantime kids still had a normal life growing up. They still played local club football with their mates. They had interests beyond the game. OK, dreams will still be destroyed but the kids haven't blown two thirds of their life on it as the current system dictates.

Would it have been O.K if Lez has added a final noun ?

Here to be educated.

Well, if it was "academy's" then "academy" as a singular noun would require a determiner (our/a/the/ Exeter City's etc.). If it was plural it would be "academies' ". Are you taking the p*ss, Alistair?? Apologies for diverting the thread : please don't hit me, Lez.

Au contraire. Merely trying to get Lez out of trouble and I had thought of the "determiner" but did not know what to call it. So I have learned something too. I am much obliged.

Lez can get out of any trouble : he's a magician.

A supreme prestidigitateur indeed.
