Occasional poster on here (greatwhite), but mainly a poster on the Supporters Club pages on Facebook. Last met him at Accrington Stanley and he stood out with the hat he was wearing! Dies aged 50 of cancer.

RIP Barry Thompson.

Echo that Hants. A great laugh on Facebook posting up until very recently. 50 is a ridiculous age to go. RIP Baz.

Never met Baz nor spoke to him on FB but I must say it saddens me for a fellow fan to be taken early. Sad news.

Barry had lived and worked in Paris for many years and spoke fluent French. He came back to watch City as often as he could afford to and followed the club avidly. A real 'off the wall' sense of humour and attitude to life. One of life's eccentrics but with a very soft heart under the cloak of humour.

R.I.P. Baz.

Yes, very sad news. Although I can't recall ever having met him we were friends on FB and his death was a massive shock.

RIP, and best wishes to his family and friends.

Same here. 50 is no age at all. Sad news indeed.

The bloke was mad as a box of frogs, but we loved him for it. Always a pleasure to catch up with him when he was back in Exeter, as others have said 50 is no age to go.

RIP Baz

Known Baz on an off from watching City for many a year. Shared some good banter with him face to face and on interweb. Will miss him ridiculing me in his own way of doing things that was a bit unique to say the least. Will be watching the clock for the 50th min. RIP Baz. Will raise a jar or two for you tomorrow (beer)
