I feel a bit of a fraud. I am going to this on the 5th of Jan in Sydney and know nothing about cricket whatsoever
Don’t worry, you’ll pick it up in a flash. (boffin)

Loving the free flowing entertaining football at S
I'd have Overton in ahead of Ball, who really doesn't impress me.
Dont disagree but would of picked Plunkett ahead of both

Yes, I'd have thought with TRJ out Plunkett would have been a better replacement. Great to see Woakes finding his form though having looked distinctly average when he played a Test in the summer.

Anyway, Ball is in - I wish him well but I fear he'll be targeted.

Good day's play for lovers of Proper Cricket. I feared the worst when Cook went early, went to sleep shortly after Vince's orgasmic first cover drive, woke up to see him still in (albeit only for a few balls).

Honours pretty much even I'd say.

With Cook and Root out cheaply, the other batters have been doing OK. Useful confidence boost for them, especially if we can press on and get a decent score.

Yep decent days play for us - win the toss and bat lose Cook and Root cheaply others have stepped up which was my concern that they wouldn't - solid start tomorrow not losing wickets early doors - Johnny B to come in and continue his prolific form - all in all good start to the series
