Obviously we don't know why Tisdale wanted the time off, and we should be able to win it whoever is in the technical area but I can't recall a similar situation where a manager is allowed to miss a game. Looks like we have announced it as low key as possible as heybridge could try to use it as motivation saying "Exeter think they can win without the manager needing to turn up". Would this had happened were we drawn against Plymouth or some other league club?

Good job the game isn’t on a Tuesday otherwise Oakley wouldn’t have made it either

At little old Exeter City the manager appears to be able to get away with this however I doubt it would be allowed / tolerated at many other clubs (if any), can you imagine this happening at Portsmouth or Wigan ??

I presume Tisdale and the club were aware this was an FA cup weekend, if so they should have been well aware that we could have been playing on a Friday, Saturday, Sunday or Monday.

It doesn't seem right to me and frankly isn't good enough.

I assume it must be something extremely important for Tisdale to miss this game, considering the flak he will take if we lose. At first glance it does seem a little disrespectful to Heybridge.

Not true. IIRC Ferguson missed a United game to attend his son's wedding.
