Fair play RB I applaud your honesty.

Now that is the sort of thing that makes a person stand out in my book.

I'd be interested to know why Sean Devine stood down at such an awkward time. Did something influence that decision?

Can I ask why ? and what difference would it make as to why he stood down.

Obviously it is something he felt important enough to make that decision.

    No conspiracy here.

I think you've answered your own question here; bringing conspiracies into the mix? And No, you cant ask why, and niether can that Matt character.

I would guess, based on the fact that he was unable to attend the last 3 meetings, that he has other commitments and isn't able to put in the time the role demands.

Perfectly valid reason, unfortunate timing, but I don't think anyone should expect him to explain exactly what other commitments he has. Although he was elected by the trust membership, it is ultimately an unpaid voluntary position, he's free to stand down if he wants to.

The fact of it being a personal decision does, I admit, leave the door open to a conspiracy theory but I can't figure out who the conspirators would be, or what they would hope to achieve.

Perhaps the files should be locked away with instructions only to be opened in 30 years time so that public interest can be satisfied.

You didn't use the word conspiracy, but you did ask whether something influenced his decision to stand down. The straight answer is "yes of course it did, everything is always influenced by something", but I figured rather than a smart Alec answer I'd instead try to answer constructively.
