I noticed at the Wycombe game how poor our throw-ins were. Nobody seemed to want the ball, everyone just standing still, no leadership at all.

I think Mansfield are being denied a certain amount of credit for their goal Ian. I dont know how us losing the ball from a throw in, well inside our own half can be put forward as any factor towards their goal; they still had a hell of a lot to do from that point on. It was a quality goal, and I cant see how any members of our defence could have done any better to prevent it. Pym never had an earthly when that final pass was threaded through. Just my point of view.
First rule of defending Pete.......... stay on your feet as long as you can. Brown threw himself into a sliding challenge straight away level with the edge of the centre circle. Matey still has twenty yards to get to the edge of our box at that point. He could have stood up, jockied his opponent and at least bought a small amount of time for the rest of the defence to recover. If matey takes him on and beats him, then he takes one for the team as I suggested earlier

Why don't we take quick throw-ins whenever possible ? It means the nearest player taking the throw and others running into space giving less time for the opposition to regroup and close down our players.

I do agree with you Harris. Although to be fair to Brown, 90% of the time he'll win the ball with that slide. Their lad has somehow poked the ball through a hole that doesn't look like it should be there.

If this is a "spot the ball" competition you've slipped up
