    Re: Big bank roof

I have passed the observations (also made by others) onto the club and I can confirm that it is being looked into now.

Thanks to those who have raised the issue.

It was bloody scary and it didn't even seem a particularly strong gust of wind, there were two loud creaking noises within a few seconds I looked up as the second noise was heard and saw the girders and roof moving.... I was stood right at the back by pole 4 and moved back to the top walkway ready to get the hell outta there is need be... Something was not right for sure, the wind was strong but not gale force.... Not sure how often these things are checked but it caused me to miss the build up to the Vale goal and just saw the ball hit the net as I was looking upwards more than on the pitch at this point....

The roof after a few loud noises seemed to move up to me, and then bounce back down. Of course in terms of distance it wasn't a lot, but it was a worrying moment.

    One sided ground anyone?

This happened at the same time Moxey was taking a corner and couldn't get the ball to stay still. Moments later we missed a header which would have given us the lead. Moments later we were behind. It was a funny couple of minutes.

I’m sure this has happened before and am also, but not quite equally, sure that a certain amount of flex was designed into the roof. Having said all that it’s good that it’s being checked out, better safe than sorry.

Maybe the atmosphere from the red legion literally lifted the roof off.

    Good work lads.

Not quite loving your idea of what constitutes fun.

Happened on a Tuesday night when we played Millwall back in November 2009.

That's very specific Hants. Hats off.

Or perhaps hard hats on. The club shop should knock out some red and white ECFC builders hard hats and get someone to sell them on the BB. Best safe than sorry and could make a few quid.
