Can we adopt our own emotional anthem ( apart from Stanno) ?

This might sound soppy but I came across some sites that listed pop song that had been adopted by various clubs just minutes after enjoying a retro hour of ABBA on youtube........it got me thinking as to which song could be appropriate to us and straight away ~ Angels ( I have a dream) ~ sprang to mind.

Liverpool have their Never Walk Alone, West Ham, Bristol Rovers , Port Vale, Hibs, Leeds, Chesterfield and so on have theirs,

Just a thought,

Diss it , trash it , go forit, improve it or come up with something else.......no worries but I think the BigBank could make a pretty good throat-lumping rendition of this and it sums up everything we've gone through over the years in just a few words................it's a simple steady beat ( but no drum please).....we could make this our own !

ORIGINAL

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream - I have a dream

I have a dream, a fantasy
To help me through reality
And my destination makes it worth the while
Pushing through the darkness still another mile
I believe in angels
Something good in everything I see
I believe in angels
When I know the time is right for me
I'll cross the stream - I have a dream
I'll cross the stream - I have a dream

MY LITTLE ATTEMPT

I have a dream, a song to sing
To help me cope with anything
If you see the wonder of a fairy tale
You can take the future even if you fail
I believe in City
Something good in everything I see
I believe in City
Now I know the time is right for me
We have the team - I have a dream

I have a dream, a fantasy
To help me through reality
And my destination makes it worth the while
Pushing through the darkness still another mile
I believe in City
Something good in everything I see
I believe in City
Now I know the time is right for me
We have the team - It's not a dream

Hate to say it, but that Janners song seems to have worked well for Argyle. Would be good to see an original anthem penned like that.

Much as I love Abba (there, I've said it!), my punk rock roots means I'm more drawn to that style. The Skids' Into the Valley is always good to hear at Charlton, so perhaps given our turnaround in fortunes The Buzzcocks' 'Everybody's Happy Nowadays' seems apt. or perhaps the Jam's In the City.

Maybe an extremely poor idea of a new terrace chant but how about this one for Lee Holmes to the beat of alt-J's left hand free (let's forget he's been playing on both wings recently!)

When our left mids free
And he's in the box
He scores in the top corner
Cos he cannot be stopped

Until this year,The Ruts debut single,In a Rut. Would have been very appropriate.

Put on the radio and heard a song which reminded me of a timeless cowshed classic......

Jump down turn around kick em in the bollox
Jump down turn around kick em in the head
Oh lordy kick em in the bollox
Oh lordy kick em in the head

Welling up here.....

I'm not surprised Billy, those lyrics tug at the heart strings - reminds me of the theme tune to Watership Down.
