Wilson played in the 1-2 friendly defeat to South Africa. Being substituted on 72 mins when the score was 0-1 to South Africa.

Looking at the report on the FA website this was a warm-up for the under 17s World Cup that takes place in India from 6-28 October. (I think the reasoning here is that the u-17 team in qualifiers goes on to play in the final tournament, regardless of age now)

Anyway, assuming Wilson is picked for the squad, we won't have him for a chunk of October.

Have we really signed him? haven't heard much about him or seen his name on the bench since and bearing in mind the above if we have signed him until January why and who is paying his wages?

We signed him because a) he's a good player and b) we needed a specialist right back.

If Pierce sweeney got injured then otherwise we'd have no cover at right back: we couldn't bring anyone else in until January.

Wilson was away on international duty in the first half of Sept and since then will have been getting accustomed to the squad, how ECFC play etc. Also you normally have more forwards on the bench and,at most, one full back. It is competitive to get on the bench and Moxey (cover for a 34 year old Woodman) is a more natural choice.

Wilson will get his chance, but that may only be after injuries or loss of form by others.

Yea yea yea, know all that etc.etc. but unlike Edwards his name seems to have died a death and if he is not available until November would we have had to pay his wages until then and even if a proportion how much?

Maybe the 3-month loan period is to see if he can adapt down yer. If he does adapt perhaps the plan is to extend the loan period until the end of the season, if that is allowable. He's only 17 so I guess WBA is not in a rush.

Yes, gotta a feeling Tis is keeping his powder dry with Wilson and Edwards at the moment I should imagine the plan is to keep them both until the end of the season.

Comfortably mid-table
We'll also have some of the Premier League U23 cup games to give them a chance to play.

Just hope a good connection with West Brom is lost if we fail to play their youngsters. No benefit for them not being in the squad.

Backing Gary Caldwell, thanks Matt and good luck.
I thought last week would have been a perfect chance to give Edwards twenty minutes at three nil against a dodgy Crewe defence. If not before both will probably start in the trophy at Plymouth.

Yeah but where would that leave Stockley, Boateng and Deano? I imagine they are all wondering when they are going to get a first team start.
