But won't there be upsides and downsides to the new stadium?

Surely the downsides has been copyrighted by Right Wing.

4 weeks tomorrow we have Cambridge United visiting in the first game of the new season. Everything will be fine and dandy by then.

Latest update. Does anyone know what is meant about the bases for the away stand in bottom picture? The picture doesn't appear to show much detail to my untrained eye. The away boundary wall is looking so different in just a few weeks.

As it is a steel frame stand there will need to be concrete bases cast probably with plates set into it to bolt on the existing framework we have purchased from Barnet.

I am not sure if the treads are concrete or steel though which makes a difference. Obviously if the actual terrace is concrete then this needs to be formed as well, although in many small stands of a semi temporary nature the actual terrace is made of rigid steel plates. The acoustics are very different from concrete.

"Preparations are ongoing for the retaining wall on St James Road."

Are we awaiting the return of the Romans? They build good walls or so I am told.

I appreciate that building work always looks slow then comes together in the end, but does anyone know whether all is happening as per schedule ?. Only just over 3 weeks to kick off and away end aside, there seems like still a heck of a lot to do with the changing rooms and big bank rejig!.

    Three things:-

    1. Now that the concrete has been laid in the changing rooms the soil pipes have disappeared. This has taken some of the (already very poor ) height away in the rooms.

    2. The yellow marks on the floor of the changing rooms indicate where the metal stud partition for the corridor will go. Take that space away and you will have a better idea of how narrow the rooms will be.

    3. In clearing and leveling the away end it shows the potential we have there for a far bigger stand with space underneath. To my mind it is a very wasted opportunity not to make the most of it now when there are obvious cash receipts in the pipeline.
