Credy: When that one went in, I must confess I proclaimed "Christ Almighty; f*****g near post!" post 105 on the matchday thread. Having watched that back a few times, surely near post or not, the sheer speed of that ball made it nigh on impossible to stop?

Pete : Did you see Petr Cech failing to save Perez' near post shot last night?

No I haven't Mike. The Premier League Show isnt until tonight. I guess even the best drop the occasional clanger. Cech was a great keeper til' Steven Hunt put a dent in his skull! Sadly never the same afterwards.

Agree. He pulls off the occasional great save, but overall he seems to lack mobility and anticipation. As you say, it's not surprising after his serious injury and he's done well even to get back between the posts.

Can we talk about something soothing like Stevenage's second goal please? Its getting far too nasty on that EMBARRASSEMENT thread!

Yeah go on then I'll bite lets do all 3 !

First was letting them get too close then 2 defenders routed to the spot.

Second Why didn't Sweeney either kick it back to Pym a bit more directly and a bit more pace or just put it out for a throw ?

Third I don't think Pym even saw it coming til it was too late and only managed to get his fingertips to it.

If he did get his fingertips to it, fair dues. I originally thought it was a bit of a 'camera' dive!

When your keeper picks up 6 awards I think it shows it’s papered over a lot of cracks.....

It’s like De Gea at United he makes them look a far better side than they are

It doesn’t, it shows you have a talented keeper.
