Announcement:

The number of votes cast (three) was almost overwhelming but the results are in and, after all that, there was no clear winner.

I have exercised my discretion and gone with Lentil and Vegetable as that was my pre-vote choice.

Thanks to all who took the time to involve themselves in the democratic process.

Leek and potato soup for lunch. Pub lunch in Stratford upon Avon.

Pea and ham for me lunch today. It took a couple of spoonfuls to get used to the taste but it turned out bleddy 'ansum.

Went a bit OTT on accompanying toast but that wasn't the soup's fault.

Got myself a pre-packaged vegetable soup mix (i.e. a bunch of diced vegetables) the other day. Very nice.

We should all be rejoicing that Lionel has finally discovered that his "opposable thumb" - the trademark of all the highest of primates - has a productive use after all.
