The election saw a turnout of 25.42%

There hasn't been other any time since the Trust became owner of the club in which there's been greater appetite for change, so how come 3 out of every 4 Trust members failed to vote?

Sadly, the Trust is a busted flush in its current incarnation. The only people who vote are those that engage and the fact that this only represents 25% tells you that most have no interest or reason to engage. They are no longer persuaded that the organisation has the will or the ability to run their club as a professional football business with the aim of winning games at first team level and, as a consequence, they have picked up their collective chairs and moved on.

Most people just want to come along and watch a (decent) game of football, that's all. A trust subscription of a couple of quid will help support the club and ensure ticket priority.

Well it's up to those of us who do believe in the trust to change their minds and give them a reason to engage. In all honesty though, I think Dancemagnet is right, most people just want to watch football, they like the idea of owning their club and putting in a few quid to help out, but aren't really interested in getting involved further.

With that in mind 25% isn't too bad, I think we could do better, but i'd be really surprised if we ever got over 35% voting.

At 64p for a first class stamp, to enclose a stamped address envelope for people to return their ballot paper does look rather expensive. If no discount then that is in the region of £2k. But would likely increase participation. Should we crowd source such an idea?

No need, just give them a discount coupon off the price of a game if they vote. A stamp addressed envelope won't do the trick. The issue is engaging as many as possible, so a bit of lost revenue on a game is nothing in the grander scheme.

As half the tickets are given away currently in any case , a sound plan
