The King is Dead. Long Live The King!
impressive victory today for Mr Corbyn, he seems to divide opinion between those who see the miracles, beard, the sandal wearing and his initials as indicative of him being the new messiah and those that take a more agnostic view.

what do Exewebbers think?

I like him.

The attack dogs that are out to stereotype him as being a throw back are themselves using cliches as old as the hills.
He's got a hell of a hard time ahead. He'll probably drop some clangers and he'll know about 80 per cent of the press are right now looking for 'skeletons'.

But party politics as was has driven me to distraction for years now so I'm looking forward to some real differences of substance as opposed to differences of style.

Whether how much of what he proposes can work or not I don't know - it'll be interesting to see if there is a tipping point to be found in wider terms and he can convince across the spectrum.

But, for me, the status quo doesn't work either so I'm well up for the contest being played out.
I hope he ignores the 'bacon sandwich' rough-overs he's bound to get and carries on as he has so far.

On hiatus.
I think it's a refreshing change. The homogeneous nature of modern politics in recent decades has served to do very little other than to reduce choice. At least he seems to have a bit of character about him.

So, plenty of dirty tricks by Murdoch and his puppet Cameron to come. They'll backfire. I just hope that the right keep up this idea that he's made Labour unelectable.

You're such a berk Hants.

You can't ever resist, rather like the odious SNP, having a bash at the Conservatives. Rather like them, with everything being about what the Conservatives will (apparently) do wrong instead of what they'll do right, why not for once post about the positives of the OP instead of yet again using it as an excuse to attack the Conservatives?

I think he's about 8 years away from getting a sniff of No 10.

For Labour this is one risky appointment, He is going to be nailed by the right wing press at every possible moment an all his policies will be scrutinised with a fine tooth comb at every opportunity. For me he does seem a refreshing change from the spin doctor politics we are so use to nowadays but is he really a 21st Century politician or one consigned to the past? He does speak about things I have concerns with but I'm always told told I'm out of touch with the modern world by my kids so what do I know?

I do hope he's got thick skin because he will need it, Good luck to him, He is going to need it

There`s plenty of Tory Grandee`s worried that Jezza might not be the unelectable Leftist people think he is and he may just capture the political zeitgeist in 2020. As a frontline public servant and local branch union official I like him and would probably prosper under his policies. Great to have a difference in the parties again and young people seemingly driving the change.

The end of the Jurassic Coast.
Wow. Jeremy Corbyn also campaigned for two people convicted of trying to blow up British Jews in London. Any pattern?

Jeremy Corbyn isn’t alone in thinking that Osama bin Laden’s death was ‘a tragedy’ http://bit.ly/1FeVW1b

Has Jeremy Corbyn ever bothered to speak to ‘the other side’? http://bit.ly/1KyeTSP

Meantime the man who Corbyn had never heard of at lunchtime is a man he petitioned a Labour Home Secretary about:

It appears Mr Corbyn's 'friend' Dyab Abu Jahjah has begun deleting Tweets about their friendship. Who would have persuaded him to do that?

Ayatollah Khomeini founded 'Al-Quds Day' in 1979. It calls for the destruction of Israel. Here's Jeremy Corbyn addressing the 2012 rally - If you were interested in peace why would you share a platform with Khomeinists

The IHRC are a Khomeinist organisation which earlier this year named the murdered staff of Charlie Hebdo 'Islamophobe of the Year' - Here is Jeremy Corbyn praising this Khomeinist organisation for representing "all that's best in Islam": https://vimeo.com/14365769

Imagine if a UKIP candidate had the number of racist links Jeremy Corbyn has. Would the left say 'it's smears'?

Finally, Corbyn spoke alongside Jah Jah several times and protested his ban from the UK. Jah Jah's group was convicted of Holocaust denial in Holland.

The bloke hasn't got a chance of Governing the country. His extreme left wing, Anti-Semitic, terrorist sympathising views will ensure Labour are completely unelectable. And that's before you even delve into his awful, unrealistic, policies.
