Good piece in today's Guardian written by David Conn trying to unravel the circumstances and events. I'm not in a position to put up a link, but it's worth looking at. A series of scary and apparently inter-related events.

That makes very, very bad reading ,surely the Council could have got one of their own Financial Officers to look into the background of both the Northampton Owners and the Companies they have "got into bed with" and researched it throughly ? Freedom of Information Act would allow such searches ?

In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
Seems very generous to lend the club £10m in the first place..A decent stadium could be built for that, let alone a stand and a few ground improvements...Still its only local taxpayers money, so no doubt,no one will be pulled over the coals for it..The saying, A fool & their money will always be parted.Springs to mind.

The council have lodged a petition to place the club into Administration.

Winding-up order adjourned http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/34832977

Why would any one want to take over the Club?

Probably an attractive proposition but only once the Admin and CVA have been agreed.

Playing well, chasing promotion, reasonably well supported....

So has anyone explained where this £10m went?
