One huge social saving would be open the euthenasia door for those who are ready to go instead of piling ever more massive resources at keeping the dying living for as long a technically possible.

Would free up masses of NHS resources, as well as freeing up the pension pots and property assets into the wider economy rather than allowing them to be hoovered away into the coffers of ever growing 'care' home corporate industry.

If you really feel the need to try and live forever then, fair enough.
But on the other hand, should you feel ready to go when the time is right then surely the state providing the facilities for a quick and dignified farewell is not immoral?

(Apart, of course, the fact, that the 'silver vote' is about the last remaining key electoral demographic)

Oh, and in case anyone thinks this out of order, as someone almost in their 60s I feel I'm becoming more and more entitled to an opinion (and option) on this subject

G2k - armed with an A3 postcard!

Scrap it and get people to "go private" other than medical emergencies.

I was at the RD&E earlier today as mini manc has a broken arm. The number of old people that had fallen over was incredible. A ban on them moving would save thousands as well as clearing the roads at the same time.

Any ****head related treatment should be charged as well.

1. do not sign the TTIP!!
2. get the ruling class out of gov't
3. do not sell any more off to the ruling class's rich friends

the above are a good starting point, without them the NHS is doomed, it's as simple as that.

On the basis none of you say will actually happen, would it just be easier to privatise it now?

By not paying GPs over £100k pa just to work two days a week (at weekends) would be a start.

Don't waste money on bobbins like Trident and spend it on the NHS.
