How many chances does the bloke deserve? In any other business he'd have been given the boot by now I'm sure.

Sounds like a bit of fuss over nothing, more a case of social media incompetence than anything sinister.

We had similar at our Cricket Club a couple of years ago. A veteran was dropped to the 2s with a (far superior in all disciplines) youngster taking his place. He vented on Twitter to a team mate, not realising anyone could see what he had written!

Difference is no one gives a toss about your local cricket side. This is a professional football club (supposedly).

Unfortunately this is probably going to make the club look stupid but, without knowing what he has actually said/done, I don't think it's a big deal in the same way his previous indiscretions of abusing supporters have been if he has just been caught swearing. Doesn't look very professional though...

True, but mates having a bit of banter (which this could be) is mates having a bit of banter no matter what field they are in.

Without knowing what was said, let's not be too quick to judge, eh?

Of course this being Exeweb, judge judy and executioner, and he is the target du jour, the chances of that happening are very slim - as already witnessed in this thread.

Tbh if it's done between him and a friend/teammate then I don't see the issue. If he's slagging off fans, using swear words then that is different, but as we don't know, I'm not sure why the club released a statement.
