The threat of Coronavirus to ECFC

I think something along those lines has been in the pipes. Btw... Not sure the players should be paying for protective gear for healthworkers. As I understand it, the issue isn't a cost issue, but an availability issue. One thing football could and should do would be to protect the grassroots...

The threat of Coronavirus to ECFC

Premier league football players aren't getting paid by the state. They're mostly getting paid by international gangsters and oil barons. Taking a 30% paycut doesn't help anyone. As I understand it, theres conversations behind the scenes about a response. Individual players have already made...

The threat of Coronavirus to ECFC

Think it's pretty hard to demonstrate these links for sure, but it doesn't seem massively sensible in hindsight. Likewise the hundreds of thousands strong women's march through the streets of Madrid days before things kicked off there.

Top 10 City Scorers Of The Modern era.

Harley played 232 times for us over various times, some loan spells, scored 40 goals (every one was memorable) fell away a bit towards the end but still averaged a goal every .17 of a match, not bad for a midfielder. Coppinger averaged .15 but was played a striker with us, a position he was not...

EFL Football suspended until 30 April

Not saying its true, or not true (I've no idea), but schools give an official "expected" grade. Then students get an actual grade. There are thousands of schools and many years worth of data. I'd have thought it definitely could be proven, were it the case.

Top 10 City Scorers Of The Modern era.

Roberts was a super exciting player on his day... But a bit unreliable. Outstanding highlights reel. Actually 18 in 65 is better stats than I thought. Especially as at least some of those games was Blakey playing him as a wingback.

A bit surprised to see Devine so high up everyone's list. Did alright in the conference before we put a proper team together (which he wouldn't have got into). 1.Rowbotham was the best player I'd seen in red and white when he arrived (only saw his second stint, unfortunately). Maybe it's rose...

The threat of Coronavirus to ECFC

Problem with tracking the cases is its dependent on number of tests (and testing strategy)... Something we're told is going to hugely increase soon. Problem with tracking the deaths is there is a lag of weeks from the transmission. So any reduction in the rate of transmission won't be visible...

    Furlough Payments

Probably dufficult to organise fairly at short notice, but it would be good if staff on government sponsored furlough were heavily encouraged to volunteer their time. Obviously it wouldn't be possible for all.

    Furlough Payments

Thats probably the case, but it's hard to see a strategy that avoids that and doesn't see huge numbers or newly unemployed. For the record, I wasnt planning to he dishonest. Its not possible to work. I either get paid to do nothing, do nothing for nothing or get furlough money.

    All Time Academy, Youth 11

My point was more the opposite. The best of the players coming through are always hyped. Ultimately, don't think during that era they were good enough. Holloway probably the pick from the late 90s crop. Similar game to Archie Collins, but Collins is streets ahead. Breslan was rated... Don't...

Barry McConnell, Nicky Medlin, Reiner Moor. There's always 'promising youngsters'... Feel like it's a psycholigical thing though... Young players are pure potential... The great unknown. When they turn out to be mediocre, its impossible to tell if things went wrong or they were just more limited...

Went on to play in Singapore, didn't he? Think he was a mainstay of the Singaporean national team, if I remember the article correctly.

The threat of Coronavirus to ECFC

No idea if this is really the case or a quirk in the data, but it appears that the death toll always dips on Sunday, with a subsequent Monday uptick. Maybe because of how they're recorded. I wouldn't be to optimistic about a slowdown after one day.

They're getting the army in to move dead bodies. It's not all a quirk of beaurocracy.
