EFL Football suspended until 30 April

I find this latest suspension odd. Professional football should be setting a good example, but it can also deal with practical barriers better than other industries/ sports because of the money in it. The roads will be quiet for quite some time and there will be lots of idle coaches and drivers...

    Ollie Watkins

Reads to me like he is using his former association with Ollie W to boost his relevance and attempts to frame himself as a sage. Perhaps life isn't so easy post ECFC after all.

    Finishing the season.

You can be a market fundamentalist, but you should recognise many others don't think markets always reward people for the value they create - e.g. nurses and care workers are underpaid, and premiership footballers overpaid. If you think a worker's value is expressed by how much they are paid...

EFL Football suspended until 30 April

It is already possible for games to be postponed if a squad comes down with an illness. If we are going to extend this level of precaution across the economy for up to six months then for most of us not finishing the 2019/2020 football season will be the very least of our worries.

EFL Football suspended until 30 April

Coronavirus isn’t going away anytime soon, and players will be among those least at risk given their age and the unlikelihood of them suffering from respiratory or immune problems. There’s little reason why the FL and Prem season shouldn’t finish. All matches are already filmed and broadcast...

    Brex Exeter 2020

Embrace the spirit of Brexit? Not sure it’s a good idea to trigger a culture war that will achieve little more than leave us weaker, poorer and the ‘sick man’ of league two again.

What have the other share holders contributed to the club since the Trust gained its majority share and, if little, why hold the Trust to a higher standard?

    Ollie Watkins

I don’t recognise your description. The extent to which it’s worth it is a different matter, but British players aren't overlooked but attract a premium

    Tagg's Trust AGM speech - 3 option

Is worth remembering that ambitious ground redevelopment and expectations of lots of extra income from non-football related activity (from the Centre Spot) were factors behind the club's financial mess that the Trust inherited. If you wait long enough, the same ideas come back around.

    Tagg's Trust AGM speech - 3 option

In the 90's it was touted in some desperation as a location for ECFC to play at had the club been evicted from SJP, but it isn't suited for large crowds. I also don't think most fans would want to watch a match with a running track between the pitch and stands, and I doubt ECFC wants to...

    Tagg's Trust AGM speech - 3 option

Quite. And we could include some kind of an anti-embarrassment clause so that should we sell the ground for a lot more money, the Council would get some of the profits, though of course they’d likely have to change the land use restriction on the site for the club to make lots of money, so would...

Crawley Vs Exeter City Match Day Thread

I also thought Archie Collins had a satisfyingly good game and that the back four plus Collins and Atangana were, as might be expected, defensively strong (though of course it meant Law was pushed out left, which we know detracts from his game). Most curious moment of yesterday for me was...

    Tagg's Trust AGM speech - 3 option

Talk about putting the cart before the horse. Don’t think I’m adding anything to the conversation, but building a bigger ground in the hope of filling it, rather than filling your current stadium before considering a new one, is a terrible idea. I hope we never leave SJP, but if Tagg is...
