    Season tickets 2020/21

Scott Palfrey - I think you guys do an amazing job. I work for a large organisation with a truly global perspective, yet some of the content you pull together is far superior to what I see here. I'd wager that many who are criticising don't understand what marketing actually is. The common...

    Season tickets 2020/21

I think the Club have done the right thing. The crucial element for me is that the deadline for the cheapest ticket is not until June. I think if the deadline was much earlier it would perhaps place unfair pressure on people who would like an early bird season ticket, but have some financial...

The threat of Coronavirus to ECFC

Indeed. I wasn't trying to undermine the severity of the situation, rather just provide some additional context. I want to be in a lock down situation. It's for the greater good.

The threat of Coronavirus to ECFC

Who knows? A lot of sensible people in the UK have been taking precautions for weeks already. My kids are now being home schooled, I haven't been to the office since last Monday and prior to that we were keeping our distance from others. The Government have made a right balls up of their...

    Finishing the season.

Indeed. Hopefully we'll see some kind of normality in the summer, but even if that transpires it's easy to argue that social distancing will continue for a long time.

    Finishing the season.

Because the modelling suggests that the current situation could last that long.

    Finishing the season.

I desperately hope I'm wrong, but I think we need to prepare for the idea that we're not going to see any football for over a year, probably longer. It's difficult to see how many Clubs will be able to continue to pay wages.

    Blessing in disguise?

That's true. However football forms thrive on opinion, rumour and speculation. We're not going to have much to chat about (football wise!) in the coming weeks and months, but speculation will keep us occupied. I have cancelled Sky and have signed up for Netflix.

The threat of Coronavirus to ECFC

Trump is an idiot. We should probably care what he thinks.

    Pitch in for City !

I seem to recall new drainage being installed a number of years ago, which then didn't work as expected. The various contractors all blamed each other and hence we couldn't pursue it? I also have something in my mind about the connection to the mains drains not being adequate and causing the...

    Pitch in for City !

The comments from the Crewe manager after the game the other day were interesting. He stated that we are one of the best footballing teams in the league, but in essence it was impossible to play football on that pitch. He observed that our tactics were to get the ball into the final third and...

    Flybe Struggling (as ever)

I see you can fly with Logan Air from Aberdeen to Bristol, but you're right they are very expensive. From Bristol Airport the Falcon bus runs hourly direct to Exeter. Flybe flights were often very good value. Usually they were significantly cheaper than the train. Not being able to get...

    Pitch in for City !

I suspect the only long term route to increased revenues would be a new stadium with facilities to generate non-football revenue. That will not be popular on here, nor do we have the cash to fund it.

    Pitch in for City !

I think you are asking the wrong question. It's not about realigning windfall income to the playing budget, rather it's about increasing revenue so the base budget ensures we are competitive.

    Flybe Struggling (as ever)

Exeter Airport have just lost 80% of it's customers. I doubt very much they'll be in the market to sponsor a football club. Most (not all) sponsors will be keen to see a return on their investment. It's not a case of whoever we fancy.

    Flybe Struggling (as ever)

Commiserations to all employees who through no fault of their own face a very stressful time. I hope they can all secure replacement jobs asap. In terms of a "big sponsor", I don't know where we start. Flybe were the largest privately run employer in the area. The University would be great, but...

WTF does Matt Jay have to do to get in the side???

Law was our best player by a country mile yesterday. MJ plays the same role as Law. MJ is less effective when deployed up front. He likes to have players ahead of him. Bringing Taylor on was the right call. We dominated the last 15 mins.

Exeter City v Crewe Matchday Thread

That looks like it's going to be a quagmire at the end of the game! Although if Crewe are more of a passing team than ourselves, then actually it's advantage us.

    City v Crewe build up

After our recent poor form, it's crazy to think we could go top if we win. We've had some heavy showers since Saturday, so the pitch is going to be a mess again. Big Nige will be key to success, if he can dominate that middle third of the pitch. A slip, a bobble or a mis-kick will be the...
