    Re: Former Players

I was commeting in general rather than for this specific squad (which has already been named and doesn't include Ollie)

    Re: Former Players

I stand corrected! Now you mention it I half recall Ben Foster getting a reserve GK callup from the Champo too (?)

    Re: Former Players

If so, I'm pretty sure he would be the first Champo / 2nd tier player to get a call up since Steve Bull. Yet to be called up for any of the England age groups and misses out on U-21 eligibility by 2...

    Re: Former Players

If he was, we can expect him at Stadium MK any moment...! :)

Had a look on the Yeovil OS, it was Nelson in goal with "Trialist B" from 60 minutes onwards... given that Grimes scored late on, it...

    Re: Former Players

Could be that Artur's knee injury was worse than originally thought - https://www.somersetlive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/yeovil-town-working-sign-new-1229027

Did he play at all after that...

Either that or selection for the Jamaican national side. Although seems that he's not been called up at all since moving to Plymouth - I guess its true what they say that there's a big club bias...

    It all sounds worryingly familiar.

    Re: Former Players

Apologies - when I'd read the match reports earlier in the day they all described a "deflected free kick" - when I look at them now, they've all been edited to say it went in off both posts. Edit...

    Re: Former Players

It was a well hit free kick, but the deflection made it look more spectacular than it was I think.

    Re: Former Players

I'd love to see it happen - but I just can't imagine us getting close to their wage demands, or all 3 of them taking a wage cut to drop back to what they were on for us.

    Plus this would need...

    Re: Former Players

That explains that then - it did seem odd to drop the captain but then with the team mired in the relegation zone, who knows.

    Re: Former Players

Yep, picked up a calf injury in early March. That said he was out of favour for most of Feb as well - Barragan or Fabio have been getting the nod at full back recently.

Hope that any add-ons we had on that deal were future-transfer related, and not appearance related.

In Tisdales recent article he makes a big deal of the fact that he built the team around Grimes and kept picking him despite mistakes.

Could go some way to explaining why he has struggled since at...

As I said I'd be delighted for him if he gets picked, but I just don't see it. I don't see George getting picked just for being left-footed where there are better right footed central defenders who...

    Re: Former Players

I'd be less certain about that too - in a back three we may not be blessed with natural left footers, but I'd argue that he'd be behind some or all of Stones, Cahill, Jagielka, Smalling, Shawcross,...
