    Re: Former Players

That’s a real shame, although understandable. At his best, he was a class act.

    Re: Former Players

1 in 6 at international level. Does that mean he was a poor England international?

There are plenty of other examples.

    Re: Former Players

Rah, rah, rah, why canít you just accept that you just got this one wrong? Mackie was such a terrible player, he played in the prem (which is largely a foreign league now) and managed to represesent...

    Re: Former Players

To be perfectly honest, I would prefer City to take a chance on a young and upcoming striker from non league than go back for for Mackie, but just saying he was a decent player.

Not still trying to defend that rubbish you spouted about Mackie all those years ago? The kidís had a decent career, which would have been better barring some long term injuries. Just accept it and...

    Re: Former Players

Incredible that Bally could have left the game of football altogether after the appalling vitriol he suffered from Stoke fans. His time at City apparently provided renewed enthusiasm and he went on...

    Re: Former Players

I think it was Stuart Dawe who was the main man involved in getting Bally back into football management at City.

As an aside, I really enjoyed reading Bally's biography a few years back - must dig...

    Re: Former Players

It's rare these days for any player to stay at any one club for so long. Coppinger has been a wonderful servant for Donny over the years and both deserve credit for that. It shouldn't all be about...

    Re: Former Players

19 goals in 66 appearances is a fantastic return for a player playing out of position, wide left. Whereas he has always been another player with a poor injury record, Tisdale never made best use of...

Cureton's career appeared to be going nowhere when Tisdale signed him and he is due credit for that. He took a chance on a class player and it paid off. The move also obviously helped resurrect...

Cureton has certainly defied the odds and still looks a decent striker with a great goalscoring record despite his age. To be fair, ECFC and Tisdale probably resurrected his career when we took a...
