Glass. Bit slow to get going and when it did concentrated a bit too much on McAvoy’s character(s). Still, plenty of tension and a good rounding off of the trilogy. One thing’s for sure, f*** working in a loony bin. 7 Patricias out of ten Kevins.

Tigerland (2000) . Colin Farrell plays a conscript being readied by instructors for Vietnam at the training camp Tigerland. A reluctant recruit , he chooses not to cooperate , looking for opportunities to escape the army.
Good well acted film with an open ending as to what happens to him in Nam. 8/10

Destry (1954) Audie Murphy ~ Mari Blanchard

Routine Murphy western has Audie playing a Deputy Sheriff who is something of a laughing stock because he refuses to wear a gun. However, trouble with the dodgy judge and the crooked town boss has our hero buckling on his Dad's colt and putting all wrongs to rights. 7/10

Oh, and he wins the crumpet to boot.

Godzilla: king of the monsters. Complete lack of plot, complete lack of acting skill and completely irrelevent and pointless characters, but who cares, it’s got giant monsters fighting each other. Got to be a winner, right? Damned right. Fantastic monsters, fantastic special effects and fantastic battles, everything you need for a bit of brain out entertainment. 9 Zeros out of ten Godzilla.

Dark Waters. The story covers a lawyer who starts working for a farmer whose cows are being poisoned, he says by the big chemical corporation. The film moves on as the local community becomes aware that the water has been poisoned as well (this is about Teflon and C-8). A well told story, and well worth a watch. 8/10.

Dunkirk(1958) seen it many times.Watched it again on the iplayer.
Such a great film.John Mills,Dickie Attenborough among many other fine supporting actors, noticed Michael Gwynn in it this time(he was the con artist in the 1st episode of Fawlty Towers,A touch of class playing Lord Melbury)
When the film was made,of course the events were fresh in many minds,I think that adds to the writing & production.
Along with Ice Cold in Alex,a defining 2nd World War films of that era from a British perspective.

10/10

Indeed..The remake along with the Churchill film,The Darkest Hour, although decent films lacked authenticity & real substance due to having to appeal to a US audience with their different taste & having to have a cheesy feel good factor at the end that infects many movies from that side of the Atlantic.

I also remember him as Lt Col Bromley-Pickering in The Virgin Soldiers.

He was sadly short lived dying aged only 59.
