I don’t think you should compare ABBA tribute singers to an Exeter boy who is in the biggest band in the world which could sell out SJP in seconds as a risk.

Maybe the trust could even make contact with Chris now that would be a positive idea.
Still a risk.Just on a bigger scale.

I doubt Coldplay/Chris Martin would do a freebie unless he was playing in the Centre Spot.

Coldplay have "given up" touring (at least for the time being ) due to their concerns over the mahoosive "carbon footprint" that it engenders !

I heard awhile back he did offer to do a solo concert for the club but fell on deaf ears.

No harm in the current trust approaching his management to ask if he would come and do a solo concert at SJP as I know port vale asked Robbie Williams and he said yes with the money raised at that forthcoming concert going to a local charity in the burslem area.

With the best will in the world you cant say that without some sort of proof its actually been said or an off the cuff remark like that makes the club management look bad.

Anyone who refers to football as soccer I would ban from sjp for life. Anyway if he or his band were playing in my garden I'd close the curtains.

Sir Stanley Rous was President of FIFA until just after the 1974 World Cup.

A good connection there with the head of the World Governing Body...Long before the post was sullied.
