Just recalled another dire decision by the ref in the first half when the cheats full back was leaning back into Randell Williams in the first half and Randell moved away and he fell down and the ref gives a free kick. God the ref was dire and the sad part is he was paid for such poor officiating

Only six unbeaten sides left across the top four divisions Liverpool, West Brom, Coventry, Ipswich, Doncaster and a certain Exeter City

I've just watched the goals again, how can anyone blame Aaron Martin for the first goal today ?? If anything Sweeney was picking their striker up.

Also to blame him for the second is harsh, he tried to block it and deflected it, it happens.

He does appear to be a bit of a scapegoat, I actually thought he had a decent game.
Not sure for the first goal, their player had plenty of time to mishit his shot straight to Angol, which is just one of those things. Second goal though started started with Angol backing in to Martin and getting possession too easily in our half from which we never got close to the ball, until the Martin deflection.

This is why Aaron got left out last season for O'Shea and might lose his place to Parkes now. Almost every long straight ball into Angol, he just backed in to Martin and Aaron took a step or two back letting Angol bring the ball down or get a more comfortable lay off. He has to stand his ground, have a battle and win more of these first contacts. Parkes did this. It might mean giving away a few free kicks now and then but at least then we can organise.

The substitution was all down to this, not a change in formation. When you're chasing a game Deano and Sparkes, as well as Sweenz are going to push further forward. It's a shame for Aaron that he has games like this because he is good at other points of defending. In league two though, defending a straight long ball against a strong target man is bread and butter. He also got bullied in the first game against Macclesfield more than he should by a less powerful striker.

If i had to agree with you we would both be wrong
Worst refereeing I've seen for 5+ yrs by the way...... inconsistent and lacked the courage to deal with some sending-off decisions - more than once. And does anyone know why Law's 1st half goal was disallowed?
Apparently there was a handball in the area which helped Law scoring … The ref once again was seeing things which favoured Orient.

Despite a late equaliser... Feels like 2 points dropped. Orient were a horribly cynical and niggly team. The number of yellows speak for themselves but there were so many off the ball fouls that I lost count. Sadly the referee just didn’t stamp it out. There was a truly bizarre moment at the kick off after Sweeney scored where the ref clearly saw their player run a block on Bowman so he couldn’t close down the centre half. He simply carried on having watched the incident from 4 ft away!

In terms of players...
Ward - Solid. Couldn’t be blamed for the goals.
Sweeney - Did some good things and scored but would have loved to have seen Richardson on at some point running at a tired defence on 600 yellow cards (tongue in cheek)
Moxey - Distribution good and always a calming presence
Martin - Has had a very good start to the season but today got bullied from the off. He just couldn’t outmuscle their centre forward and as a result they always had a foot in the game. Parkes seems to be better suited to sort out muscular forwards.
Sparkes - Is playing really well. Sure he’s not the finished article and can make the odd mistake but was committed, got up and down and adds another dimension to our attack with his ability to get forward.
Law - No idea why the goal was disallowed. Seemed to do ok but it didn’t feel like he could dictate like he sometimes does.
Taylor - lots of hard work and a great run in the first half to got through on goal (excellent ball by Sweeney) but should have converted.
Collins - worked hard and linked play well. He’s so calm and composed for someone so young. Hopefully he’ll be able to add in some more incisive passing as he matures.
Williams - Started like a house on fire with some great runs. Orient doubled up on him time and time again which limited his effectiveness. Still a little inconsistent but has real quality.
Lee Martin - Not his day. Ran around a lot but struggled to unlock their defence.
Bowman - huffed and puffed. No lack of effort but a little more composure needed. Missed a big chance in both halves.

Subs - Fisher should have scored from a great cross but got involved. Parked dealt with their centre forward in a more robust manner. Seymour looked lively.

2 points dropped but still unbeaten. Young players developing, a courageous team, a committed manager and top of the league. Things are looking good.
Disagree entirely. Got caught napping on the ball twice. One time giving possession away which could easily of resulted in a goal. There second goal literally went in the middle of the goal. Granted it was deflected, but from 25 yards his response time was poor.

Bad day for Aaron Martin today. He showed once again that consistency is his biggest weakness. In a way I'd like him not to be dropped for Parkes to show his worth. Can't help but think that he will be out of the team on Tuesday though.

25 yards????? The initial shot was outside the box but have another look where it hits Martin... That’s where you should measure the reaction time from

OK, 22 yards if we're talking facts. He would still be disappointed in conceding that goal. The orient chants of dodgy keeper indicated it probably wasn't his best effort either.

Agree completely.....everyone blaming the ref and the Leyton Orient tactics for not winning are well wide of the mark....as MT said we were collectively not good enough today and particularly lacking in the final third!!
All of these things can be correct though, it was an appalling start to the second half, but we were by far the better team for the rest of the match, and the combination of weak refereeing and shithouse tactics cost us.
