There are concerns about the use of coal for heritage steam trains. At the moment some of them import from Poland, but may be banned from burning from coal.

Fortunately there seem to be enough mp's interested in fighting for legislative "heritage" exemptions. A real problem however is that even with all the preserved lines that exist, there is not enough annual demand generated to keep a UK steam coal pit in economic production. Any blanket ban on coal for other uses does not really help ease the problem.
