By contrast, this report suggests he is staying at Brentford, though given the madness of transfer deadline day who knows what will happen.

Unlikely this window now, save if the Zaha move happens.
Zaha has apparently put in a transfer request.

20 hours left in the window, can't see it happening now.

It could quite easily happen. If Palace respect Zaha's transfer request (surely better to have 70m than an unhappy player?) then a replacement is required. With 120m sloshing around from the sales of Wan Bissaka, and Zaha it shouldn't be too difficult to secure an approx 15m transfer of Watkins. Brentford have already signed a player in Watkins position in case this happens.

I agree. The probability is that it won't happen but Palace could easily be desperate enough to make a crazy last-minute bid approaching 20 million that Brentford can't refuse. Still not sure it would be the best thing for Ollie, though. Palace have an aging squad and these last minute transfers often don't work out. Plus the Brentford fans seem to think he would benefit from another season of Championship football.

The (good) thing about Zaha is that he won't make waves if he isn't transferred. Palace risk relegation without him, too. Perhaps Palace will ask for one more season from him.

So what’s the consensus , do we want him to go this season with a potential 2.5 M bonus to us , or wait another season or next January ?How long is a piece of string I suppose , and relying on him not picking up an injury and continuing scoring without the likes of Maupay around him.

A bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. I'd be quite happy to get the cash now.
