He stayed on the bench again this evening and so the Ampadometer still reads 10 games until payday.

The trouble is chelsea do not go 3 or 4 nil up anymore ,so he can't bring on the youngsters on for a bit of experience towards the end of games.

Last season he wouldn’t have made the bench v Arsenal
It’s progress!

Exactly he is now making their PL match day squad on a fairly regular basis. Unlike other Chelsea starlets he has not and does not look likely to be sent out on loan which shows that the Club definitely see him as a future first team player.

By all rights he should be, but the danger is the revolving managerial door at Stamford Bridge and the pressure on managers to get instant results. There seems little latitude for a manager to be picking teams with the future in mind. Hudson Odoi is in a similar situation, Starts a match and plays a blinder and then gets the last ten minutes at Arsenal. Chelsea are really keen on keeping him (to the tune of £85k a week) but he wants to go to Bayern simply to play. Why on earth didn't Chelski start him at Arsenal, if they are that keen to hang on to him ? Ethan could be the next in that position.

Let's hope he is. I wouldn't have any problem with Ethan trying to force a move, to a club that's going to play him, for £50m or so.

On the bench again tonight for the second leg against Spurs (as is Hudson-Odoi).
