I do not get the dislike for Nichols at at. He scored 17 in 36 the season before he left, and 10 in 22 before he departed to the Posh. Good mover, good finisher. I see no downside.
Quite right. (y)

34 goals in 97 appearances for us if Wiki is right. Far from shabby.

Nichols is a goal scorer. A fox in the box player who would thrive alongside someone like stockley.
I'd take him back in a flash if rovers release him.
Rather have Alex Nichols

Wouldnt moan, with us b4 always thought he was slightly over rated probaly cos this is purely my opinion. never felt he 100% nailed a startin position with us b4 say like stockley is 2 day but given a few seasons of uppish market exp' away would be decent enuf addition to the squad . get him scorin again and he's young enuf to recoup a decent transfer profit AGAIN

Indeed, had a great knack at being in the right place at the right time,a real sniffer..His career may have stalled at Rovers goal wise, but he is a young player & will turn that corner.

People seem to forget that Nichols had scored 12 goals by mid January for us when he left for Peterborough, so he would have surely broken the 20 goal barrier that season. Did pretty well the following season in L1 with 13 goals so he’s a decent player for this level. Still don’t think this rumour is an anything more than that but stranger things have happened.

Know you've still got to score them , but how many of his goals were penalties?

If it's right about the manner in which he left I'd rather not have him back.

It either passed me by or I've forgotten. What was the story?
