Don't use the name of the genre in your band name.

Whilst I agree, I do like it when a band name gives you some idea of what the music might be like. Slayer, for instance, or Mellowdrone, Mitch Ryder and The Detroit Wheels, Smoke Fairies, Explosions in the Sky, Buena Vista Social Club, Trembling Blue Stars, Subhumans etc etc - you have a fair idea of what you are going to get.

I think the likes of Marillion and Kasabian, stupid words that mean nowt, are some of the w*nkiest names, not to mention being some of the w*nkiest bands.
