Will Brazil have stage fright and allow Croatia a surprise result? 9pm kick off and shown on ITV.

Hanging up the boots.
Can't bloody wait. It's like Xmas day as a kid when the World Cup starts.

I think I'll skip the games kicking off at 2am!

Will have to miss the opening ceremony at 5pm due to work commitments . A blessed relief!

Presuming I get custody of the main TV, it'll be Cricket highlights at 7, an hour of Atlanta Braves, then the match (switching back to the Braves while Chiles and co ruin half time).

If I'm banished upstairs it'll be this minus the Braves.

I'm not usually that interested in international football but am quite looking forward to this. If the organisation all goes well, and that appears to be a big if, then it should be a decent tournament.

Doubt if Brazil will croak tonight. They'll start well and have the masses fawning. But, as with their last two tournaments, they'll fade in the qtrs/semis. I don't expect them to win this time round either.

Agree Mr J. 2-0 Brazil for me.

Either 3-0 Brazil or a drab 0-0 draw. If you want a peaceful World Cup, I'd hope for the former.

Can I claim the first official injury of the world cup? Used a pen knife to open the packet with my copy of the FIFA Official programme, and cut my finger. (clap)
