Judging by people moaning it seems that Virgin have some sort of problem, wonder if that's affecting things at EW HQ

Very sorry chaps, my fault. In making some preparations to move Exeweb to a beefier server I was taking a snapshot of the database. That has been running since 5pm but as Exeweb got busier it started grinding to a halt. I've abandoned that now and will do it another time when I can turn the site off. Possibly after 11pm tonight. I'll have a look at what the quietest times are!!

Normal service is resumed. And the last 3 hours of my life have been wasted! :)

Good timing in relation to the UK outage for many websites for Virgin Media customers! Exeweb was okay, but as Virgin Media service returned, so Exeweb stopped working.
