So there we are discussing the impact of the nuclear "disaster" in Japan, and the name of the plant is triggering the Exeweb swear filter, just because the first three letters are F, U and K.

Grrrr.

Test: Scunthorpe.

But I know we'll meet again, some sunny day...
I don't actually understand why there's a swearing filter.

I don't actually understand why there's a swearing filter.
Because this is a family website, and some people don't like swearing, especially C-bombs.

Makes it easier to have a filter than for us to have to go all moddy on people's asses.

I don't mind swearing. Annoys me when people put *** as it is so obvious what the word is.

Nah, sometimes you need to express the feelings using strong language but a good compromise is to use asterisks. That is my approach and I'm f***ing well sticking to the f***er.

Jason, lets do a quick test... If you don't know what any of these words say without too much thought, let me know.

C*NT
F*CK
SH*T

May as well just remove the filter.

Can't
Feck
Shot

Easy.

And no, we'll not be removing the filter, for reasons aside from merely "We know what's being said".
