Of late, the practice of posters lifting a quote from a previous post and altering the verbage to read totally different is on the increase (see the Paul Jones thread). Its usually accompanied by the declaration 'edited for factuals' or words to that effect.

Can nothing be done to put a stop to that?

In short, Pete, no. It's childish but amuses the perpetrators and it's not as though they don't make it obvious what they've done.

Who would live in a house like this?
In short, Pete, is there nothing that you won't complain about? I will give you credit for not mentioning Jonah in this post, though. I'm all heart, me.
I agree with Newbury's real reply to you.

I agree with Newbury's surreal reply to you.
Nah, not really that amusing.

On hiatus.
Nah, not really that bemusing.
Pete, I did notice my post misquoted. But I thought it more amusing. As long as it's an obvious change and good hearted I find nothing wrong with it ...

If we're on the subject of "Altering Quotes" how about a spot of WORDSWORTH

I wondered, lonely, in the crowd,
While celebrating Ryan's goal
Whether our defence would hold 'em out
Or whether they might find a hole

And, sure enough, defence too thin
With a cross struck high
A Simple head, with Jonah dead
Our early lead did die

No time had passed, a Minute? Less??
When a free kick almost kills
A simple shot sailed past the lot
A wall of wilting daffodils

But we're the MIGHTY EXETER
And thanks to wond'rous Logie
We battled back in fine attack
To break that "first game bogie"

Hey, you altered my quote.

PeteUSA won't be happy about this.
