Having had Spain drawn for me in one of the world cup sweepstakes, would you risk all... or have £100 on Holland at 6/4 making me a winner no matter what happens. £200 if Spain wins.. £150 if the Dutch do the Biz

You have risked a lot posting this on WoWs, ah, it now occurs to me that you are talking about the ECFC sweep.

If 6/4 really is available I would snatch their arm off, bird in the hand and all that.

Sorry, I take it the prize is £300 ?

Life is all about taking risks. Why not assume you have already won and bet £200 on Spain winning? That is what I would do

Yup Poult.. £300 for the winner, and 6/4 is available at several of the leading bookies for Holland to lift the cup.

Why not go £120 on the Dutch and guarantee yourself a return of £180 for your original 20 quid?

Spain are trading at around the 1.6 mark on betfair. You could lay £150 at 1.6, meaning you'd have to cough up £90 if Spain one but you'd get to keep the £150 you layed if the Dutch triumphed.

And if you don't already have a Betfair account they'll give you a free £25 quid for your troubles.

So, if Spain one you'd be £235 in profit (300-90+25) and if the Dutch one you'd be £175 in profit (150+25).

Beat me to the punch Egg. Also you could lay a Spain victory at 6/5 with Betfair (not forgetting your £25 freebie of course). If it ends in a draw and Spain win in extra time/on pens you get that result and your sweepstake.

Hanging up the boots.
Well I had £50 on Millwall to win the lg1 p/o final and Spain to win world cup double - Returns £362.00.

Now I had the decision on how to cover myself a little (but not too much as I still think Spain will do the job). I decided to open up a Totesport account and place £20 on Holland at 6/4 and use my £20 free bet from them to do the same.

That means if Spain win I get £362.00 and if Holland win I get £100 or whatever it equates to (especially as it included the stake in the winnings).

As a side I bet I ventured for a fiver on Villa and 1-0 scorecast as well.
