One thing I have never understood....

....is how to do the putting your own words in a link thingy.

Any guidance much appreciated.

'Copy' the link you want to post.

Write out the phrase you want to include.

Highlight the phrase by holding down the left click button and dragging your mouse over the phrase.

Click on the globe/paper clip icon immediately above your message in the message headers.

'Paste' your link (making sure it doesn't include the 'http://' twice.

Click OK, then 'Preview' your post to make sure it's worked.

Phil, the repeat text after the first [] brackets you can change to whatever..

Note I had to change the ] to a ) so you could see it here!!

PS Antony is much clearer!!

Too complicated.
  • Copy the URL.
  • Click on the Insert Link (little globe thing)
  • The relevant area will already be highlighted in your reply - simply type your desired phrase.

Simples.

If I wanted to link to Exeweb I'd put:

[url]www.exeweb.com[/url]

www.exeweb.com

If I wanted to write Clicky and link to Exeweb I would put:

[url=www.exeweb.com]Clicky[/url]
