I see he has 'parted company' with Leyton Orient. It's not so long ago he was being touted for jobs at bigger clubs.

If (and it's a big if) Lingy was still available, (given 45% of all managers getting the chop never get another job as a manager) he would be a damn fine replacement for Tiz when the day comes (hopefully not for a good while yet!) Lingy is still held in high regard by many City fans still to this day.

This happens so often - a manager gets praised, results go down the pan and he's out on his arse. I wish Lingy well. As Olds says its quite an achievement just surviving at any club for 5 years. I hope this means that it will be easier to find his way back into football management again. Nice to see our old boys doing well, most of the time.

He was the 7th longest serving manager in English senior football..!!

Sir Alex,22 years & Graham Turner 13 years lead the way....
