I'm amazed by this. even the thought of it amazes me.

I'm told it's not dead in the water yet.

Still makes me laugh that the mickies paid 7 mill for him. Benitez really does have an eye for a bargain.

I don't think I've laughed so much at a transfer rumour in a long time. He's not even as good as Aaron Lennon.

On the BBC sport football gossip page, there is a classic quote from the Daily Mail re Pennant.

Real Madrid wanted to sign Jermaine Pennant from Liverpool but his wages demands were too high and he may now end up joining Wigan.

Antonio Valencia is a much superior right midfield than Jermaine Pennant ever will be or has been, unless of course Valencia is sold to a bigger club.

Who knows?
