Hopefully the pitch is good for spinners after picking Swann and Panesear

well if its good for spinners its not good for England because:

1) India have 3 top class spinners despite the retirement of Anil Kumble........Harbhajan, Mishra and Chawla not to mention part time spinners in Sehwag and Yuvraj

2)England can't play spin, well Collingwood can, KP can to an extent rest suck, Iain Bell will get a battling 30 or 40 then get himself out in a stupid fashion

England's bowling looks toothless as well, It will be interesting to see which Steve Harmison turns up

I thought we just were, didn't know we had elections to be it. :D

England 118-1. Cook for 52. Not too bad of a start.

150-1. Good progress in the second session.

One loose shot from Cook which saw his wicket go. Strauss and Bell going along nicely. Odd ball turning, lots of fielders round the bat but a good solid foundation and should be looking towards 400.

Bell...tick-tock, tick-tock.

No doubt when his place becomes seriously under threat (as it must be now, SURELY), he'll hit a ton then faff around for another 6 tests until the goodwill evaporates again.
