If you are going be prepared for a longer journey than normal.

The District Line is planned to be shut between Barking and Upminster meaning a replacement bus service estimated to take upto 30 minutes longer than normal.

Is there a Docklands Light Railway alternative?

No - DLR is a bit further South of there. Not sure if one of the trains out of Fenchurch Street (or even Liverpool Street) will stop nearer Dagenham than Barking.

Currently no Clap from me due to playing (and Exiles FC Christmas bash) on the Sunday. "Operation Waterworks" is in motion, but I'm not holding out much (any) hope.
