This was my favourite bit:

with Liverpool, Chelsea and Manchester United believed to account for a third of that £3bn debt.

Even more reason to start focusing on investing in the youth academys around the country - especially the top clubs - instead of them paying 'silly' prices for overated foreign players.

They wont do that Ellis because the fans demand instant success

Sorta could say that football fans are sorta to blame ina sense but its just a circle of greed. Fans whinge n whine if there clubs dont spend cash and then person and moan when theyve overspent and its all gone wrong. Like with Bill Kenwright at Everton. Essientally all thats wrong with him is he dosnt have enough money and thats why everton fans hate him. Is a joke

I could be wrong but heard someone saying this morning that if a clubs debt is too large they could be prevented from playing in Europe.Could this mean a first appearance in the UEFA Cup for City soon?:p

"However, Chelsea say their "unique ownership structure" means that monies owed are "internal and in the form of interest free loans from the owner that have no repayment time frame attached".

----

So Chelsea are up a creek without a paddle when Roman decides he's bored with this football malarky.

Unless the government decides to bail them out and partly nationalise them....now that'd be pretty ironic.
