How do you change the link to read what you want, rather than the link address???

Type out your post as normal, then highlight the bit that want as a link buy dragging the mouse over it. Go to the icons at the top of the post and in the middle on the second row is a world with a paper clip in front of it. Click that then C&P the actual link from your address bar.

Preview your post and try clicking on your new linky phrase just to make sure.

If you're not using the posh editor with the icons like Ant but instead using the simple plain text one, you'll need to use BBCode like this:

{url=http://www.exeweb.com/}exeweb.com{/url}

But using square brackets instead of curly ones.

how long do you have to be a member before you can post hyperlinks?

Can't remember exactly off the top of my head, but I think it is two weeks and 20 posts.
