Farnborough Town have gone. HMRC refused their CVA application. Have reformed as Farnborough FC, and will play in British Gas Business Southern League 1 South and South West Division (step 4).

Details at www.farnboroughtownfc.co.uk/index.php?subaction=showfull&id=1180210406&archive=&start_from=&ucat=1&

Never recovered from Westley leaving and taking the money from the Arsenal FA Cup ties.

Have never been to Cherrywood Road (which they will continue to play at), despite being only a few miles away. Always somewhere else when City played there.

What is it about Conference football that destroys so many teams.

The gap between having 1000 fans for big games and having 2000 fans every week. To many clubs try and be 'bigger' than they are but without the fans.

Sorry to hear about that.

Farnborough were the opposition in the match that JK was mascot for, in our first season in the conference. A 1-1 draw with a "trademark" Flack header I think...

A real shame.

What Westley did to them is a disgrace.

In RaWZ we trust....Amen.
Our last visit was that 2-1 defeat in August 2004...Expectations were high after Farnborough had lost 7-1 at Carlisle in their previous game..It all went tits up when Devine tapped in Affuls goal bound shot & was flagged offside(that would have been 2-0)

It all tourned sour at the end, with some fans giving the Grecians players some nasty abuse...A experience to forget...

With all of the debate about quiet fans a Wembley, that was the unacceptable other side of the coin.

I'm 'aving it medium
That was my only visit to Farnborough. Not a great day out.

They finished mid table last season, despite a 10 point deduction. Thought that they might challenge to get back in the Conference next season.

I think Gareth Sheldon (who?) scored direct from the corner within the first 10 minutes of the game. After that the City fans were lauding it (common back in the 'early' Conference days), right on cue on the half time whistle their CF's diving header came off the bar onto Ricey`s head and into the back of the net. They went onto win it with the last kick of the game, and as you said it soon got ugly.
