Matt Taylor was crystal clear in the media after the 2-2 draw at Yeovil that he was not happy with the performance, particularly in defence, and it will be interesting to see what effects his words will have had ahead of what could be a tricky match against fancied opposition. Taylor has tended to favour two up front at home against one up front away, so 
expect to see Jonathan Forte return. This is likely to be for Jordan Tillson or possibly Lee Martin, depending on how Nicky Law has fared this week after limping off late on at Yeovil.
Swindon, under the colourful (right down to the tan) Phil Brown, were tipped to be amongst the front runners this season but have done little so far to play up to this tag, lying in mid-table with one win from their last five league matches, although they did record a stunning 3-0 win at that lot down the A38 in the Checkatrade Trophy on Tuesday night so will have gained confidence from that. Michael Doughty started the season well with five goals in seven matches (albeit several were penalties) but hasn’t featured since mid-September, so one name to particularly look out for is another Matt Taylor, this one the former Portsmouth, Bolton and West Ham midfielder who is still a cultural presence in midfield at 36. He will likely be partnered in midfield by the former City midfielder James Dunne, while Marc Richards may not be the potent force he was with Chesterfield and Northampton but will still be very much one to watch.
City had the upper hand in matches between the sides last season, picking up four points. Right near the start of the season the County Ground hosted a 1-1 draw – City led through McAlinden before Woolery equalised in a match noted 
also for the debut of 16 year old Jack Sparkes, who hit the post with practically his first touch. The return saw City come from behind (Woolery again) to win 3-1 through goals from Jake Taylor, Pierce Sweeney (penalty) and a late Jayden Stockley effort to seal the points. It is Swindon, though, who have the league head to head lead with 36 wins to City’s 23, 25 matches finishing level.
