David Wheeler in Football League’s Team of the Week

After an excellent opening day to the new season for Exeter, further good news was provided by the Football league with the inclusion of David Wheeler in the Football League’s Team of the Week.

While not the sponsor’s man of the match, he was for many their man of the match. Tireless running, fending off the close attention of Yeovil fans, fine crosses and of course latching onto David Noble’s long ball for the Grecians second goal.

He played the full 90 minutes in Exeter City’s 3-2 win over Yeovil Town.
