Exeter City have confirmed that League 1 Sheffield United will be visiting St James Park for a friendly on Thursday 23rd July. Kick off will be at 7.30pm.

The Blades narrowly missed out on a trip to Wembley after losing to Swindon Town in the semi-final games, including earning a remarkable 5-5 draw at the County Ground.

Sheffield United recently appointed Nigel Adkins as their manager. He was manager of the Reading side that visited the Park forexeter_sheffield a friendly before the start of last season.

We’ve been in the same division as United for just one season under the reign of Paul Tisdale, the result of those two matches were

  • Exeter City 2 Sheffield United 2. L1. Saturday 5 May 2012
  • Sheffield United 4 Exeter City 4. L1. Saturday 29 October 2011

There are an additional two games at St James Park before the season starts in August. They are

  • July 18, 2015 3:00 pm Exeter City vs AFC Bournemouth
  • July 20, 2015 7:45 pm Exeter City vs Fluminense FC (Under 19s)
