Easter Monday’s Newport Game Brought Forward

Exeter City and Newport County have agreed that their Easter Monday (6th April) clash at St James Park can now kick off at 1pm. The League 2 game had been Exeter City v Newport Countyscheduled for a 3pm kick off. This follows a change to the Luton Town game at Kenilworth Road taking place a day earlier on Good Friday (6th April).

The change has been made at the request of Devon and Cornwall police.

Newport County currently sit in 6th place and have Jimmy Dack in charge following the departure of Justin Edinburgh to Gillingham. Jimmy Dack’s got his first win in his 3 game managerial career with  a 2-1 win away at Wycombe on Saturday.

With Newport County in with a chance of a play-off place, a bumper away crowd is expected. Last season, they brought 861 fans to the corresponding fixture. Ticket news for Exiles fans have not yet been announced.
