Nicholls Back at the Park

City have made their second striker signing in as many days with the news that Alex Nicholls is rejoining the club on loan until January. Nicholls, whose six-match spell with the club earlier in the season coincided with City’s turnaround in form, scored one goal in that spell (the winner at Cambridge) but was instrumental in other games, winning penalties against Oxford and at Dagenham and Redbridge.

He made nine appearances for Northampton on his return and, with his contract due for renewal in January was expected to earn a new deal, but his return to City suggests his time at Sixfields may be up and that he’ll sign a more permanent deal with City once his Northampton contract expires.

Nicholls will once again wear the number 23 shirt – welcome back Alex!
