Cobblers Recall Nicholls

Northampton Town have exercised their right to recall loanee Alex Nicholls. When the loan extension was announced on 26 September, it was always a concern that the 24 hour recall option could be activated. Paul Tisdale mentioned this in an interview, read our article at http://www.exeweb.com/2014/09/25/alan-nicholls-loan-extended/

Northampton Town boss Chris Wilder said of the recall:-

We have called Alex back and he will be involved at Portsmouth on Tuesday night (JPT tie).

He’s had a good chunk of games there which has been great for him but it was never going to be a long-term thing and we’re looking forward to having him back.

Alex Nicholls has played 6 times for the Grecians, scoring the once (away to Cambridge United). His work rate, positional play and his developing understanding with Graham Cummins up front had won the admiration of Exeter City fans, who’d hoped that he might have become surplus to requirements at Northampton.

We echo the sentiments of the Exeter City FC:-

Everyone at Exeter City would like to pass thanks to Alex for his service during his time at St James Park, and wish him all the very best for the future.
