Having just been appointed as manager for Tranmere Rovers, former Exeter City assistant boss returned to the Cat & Fiddle to steal striker Eliot Richards from the Grecians. Richards had been offered a contract by Exeter City having spent a period on loan, and was expected to sign for them.

He’s played in 17 games for the Grecians scoring 5 goals that helped Exeter to retain their League 2 status and his parent club to relegation.

Tranmere Rovers Manager Rob Edwards said:-

I’m delighted to have signed Eliot for the Club.C

He’s a very dangerous player who always looks like he can score goals with either foot. He’s played and scored in Leagues 1 and 2 and is a quick and bright, forward thinking player.

He’s someone who we feel we can develop and will become capable of playing at a much higher level.

The worry for Exeter City fans is who else will Rob Edwards entice away.
